SCULL LORDS
They are constructed the same way the Death Monks are (PVC body) however, these costumes have belts and collars which require a more bulky frame. I improvised by duct taping a cheap pillow to the PVC to have something to tie the belt around. It worked great. It gave the Lords a real presence. They were armed with battle axe staffs and an assortment of other props that added some character. Hammering rebar into the ground and slipping the PVC over it worked for two of the props, but I also wanted to position two of them on the concrete driveway and had to come up with an alternative way to make them stand. In some cases, we borrowed some weights off the universal machine and slipped the PVC into them. The holes in the weights were the right size for the PVC. In another case, I bought some cast iron umbrella stands (the kind you put under your picnic table to hold the umbrella up) that have screws that tighten around the PVC (like a xmas tree stand). It works well as long as there isn't a really strong wind blowing.

I love these guys! For static props, they really gave our ToT's a good scare last year. I was  inspired to create them after I bought four identical costumes for $10 each on clearance (no lie!) at Party City.
